February 27, 2026

Dementia Education

Adults with Down syndrome are at a higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease earlier in life, so early education and support is important.

Caring for an adult with Down syndrome or IDD who may be experiencing memory or behavior changes can be challenging. Our free four-part workshops are designed to provide clear, practical information and real-life challenges to support caregivers.

Workshop Schedule

  • Workshop #1 – Understanding Alzheimer’s disease – Friday, February 27
  • Workshop #2 – Progression of Alzheimer’s disease – Friday, March 13
  • Workshop #3 – Supporting common daily challenges – Friday, March 20
  • Workshop #4 – Advance Care Planning – Friday, March 27

Who should attend?

Family caregivers, paid caregivers, community organizations supporting adults with Down syndrome, anyone supporting an adult with IDD

Attend in-person at CASL or via Zoom. Pre-registration preferred, but drop-ins welcomed! Light refreshments provided.
