Jinxiao (Ruby) Tan earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Colorado State University and her Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor. Born and raised in China, Ruby, as a first-generation immigrant herself, understands the complexities of navigating cultural transitions, intergenerational dynamics and trauma, and the invisible weight of systemic inequities. Her practice is rooted in the belief that therapy is a journey of partnership and courage, and healing begins when individuals feel seen, heard, and empowered to cultivate self-compassion, build healthier relationships and lifestyles, navigate life’s challenges with resilience, and reclaim their narratives. Ruby utilizes a strength-based, collaborative, and culturally affirming approach, developing and implementing culturally sensitive treatment plans that honor individuals’ unique histories and strengths.
