CASL to Host Chinatown Cleanup, Block Party, and Building Rededication
Chinese American Service League celebrates 20 years in its Chinatown headquarters by honoring past, present, and future
WHAT: Dozens of volunteers will clean up litter around Chicago’s Chinatown neighborhood in a community event hosted by the Chinese American Service League (CASL), the Midwest’s largest nonprofit social service agency serving Asian Americans. A 20-year rededication ceremony for CASL’s headquarters, the Kam L. Liu Building, 2141 S. Tan Court, will precede the cleanup, and a community block party will follow.
The Kam L. Liu Building, designed by the renowned architect Jeanne Gang and completed in 2004, solidified CASL’s footprint in Chinatown and has enabled the organization to serve more than 7,000 community members each year.
This event offers opportunities for a heartwarming community feature, b-roll, photos, and interviews with CASL leaders, clients, and community partners.
